One of the greatest joys of travel, for me, is experiencing the different foods and drinks around the world. Sure, I can get Italian pizza in my neighbourhood but I promise you it’s not a patch on the pizza I tasted in Naples or the food of Rome.
And it wasn’t until I spent time hanging out in the taco joints in Mexico that I realised how different Mexican cuisine is from what’s served here in Europe and even in the USA.
I’ve learned that there’s a lot more to Japanese cuisine than sushi – deadly Fugu and Kobe beef, for one (ok, two examples).
I’ve picked up guacamole recipe from a Mexican friend, eaten lots of traditional Jamaican food, Irish food and Greek food, realised that Italian food is very regional and learned how to drink Tequila like a Mexican.
