Vietnam was one of the first countries I travelled to as a solo female traveler, along with Cambodia. And I hold it partly responsible for that decision to quit my job and travel the world on a gap year (that turned into a nearly 6 year trip). Vietnam’s beauty, culture and food is that powerful.
I’ve been back to Vietnam many times and it holds a special place in my heart. What’s great about Vietnam is you can spend as little or as much time there as you have. My first trip was a 10 day whirlwind through the country, and it’s definitely possible to pack in this long, thin Southeast Asian country into a 10 day or two-week trip. Hit up the highlights and best things to do in Vietnam. Must see on my list are Hoi An and Halong Bay.
