Video – Watch 3 Years of Travel in 3 Minutes

On 20th September 2010 I set off on an around the world trip that I thought would last a year. As my career break came to an end, I knew that I couldn’t go back – not because I’d done anything illegal (that I’d been caught for), but because wanderlust has taken root so deep that continuing seemed the only bearable option. Three years later I’m still going.

If you’ve ever wondered what I’ve spent my last three years doing or what an around the world trip looks like, here it is – one 3-year extravaganza of travel captured in 3 minutes (and 51 seconds). From Latin America to Southeast Asia to China, India, the Middle East, Hawaii and Europe, I hope you enjoy.

To the people I met along the way (some featured below, some not), it is you, not the buildings nor the beaches, that have made my journey worthwhile. Simply: thank you. May you continue to follow your own travel dreams. Just make sure you send me an invite!

  1. You’ve created memories that will last a lifetime! I’m trying to do the same thing with my travels by taking a one second video everyday. I’ve got a long way to go still though, only 6 months down!

Your video was amazing, loved it! 🙂

    • Awww, thanks Phillip! I’d love to see your video when it’s done – come back and post a link for me to watch? Have an amazing trip!

  2. Love the vid! Ran into you in Hostel 3B in PDC back in summer 2012 (there were stolen bikinis, ladies night and drinking of strangely alcoholic “traditional English tea” from mugs in the hostel reception…). Randomly remembered your site so paid a quick visit. Might be doing a little more travelling soon so will be mining your posts for inspiration! Cheers, Nat x

    • Hey Nat – I remember you and all of the incidents you list 🙂 Thanks for stopping by! Let me know where you’re off to. I’ll share some tips if I’ve been or look on with traveller jealousy if I haven’t! Safe travels.
