Thanks for the laughs. I googled in an effort to figure out the reasons why some women pick female-only dorms, thinking that it must be the usual “smells and security” motives.

Those dorms seem to have serious downsides, too.

Haha, very honest, and very true!! A good mix of testosterone and estrogen is always the way to go! Yin and Yang!

A girl I met recently in Italy had booked into an all female dorm and after reading my post said she agreed couldn’t agree more! Guess it was prompted by her female room mate had locked the entire shower room (with 3 showers and toilets in it) because she wanted privacy. At risk of sounding sexist, I can’t imagine that happening in a mixed dorm 🙂 If you need that much privacy then you need a private room! Yin and Yang indeed.

Seriously!?! I bet she was popular at breakfast! I’ve never come across that in a mixed dorm or one that happened to be all male! Im sticking to mixed dorms!

Seriously! You should travel with me for a while – I seem to experience more than my fair share of unsavoury situations! 🙂 Yes, mixed dorms all the way!
