Your experience was very similar to mine. I was amazed too when after bouncing over the ocean all of a sudden there were many boats. There were big swells that mad swimming tough even for a strong swimmer. The most intimidating part was being in the water around so many boats with outboard props. I actually thought that part was pretty risky. I did get to see a wall of Manta rays which was awesome. I am looking into Isla Holbox now!!
